Wagener » About FSC
Let’s set together the standards of a responsible wood culture.
The central goal of FSC is to develop standards that help manage the forests in a more responsible manner, so that the next generations will enjoy them as much as we do.
To this end the FSC defined principles and criteria for responsible forest management that are valid worldwide.

The national standards exist to enable the measurement and practical implementation of these principles. Many countries have established FSC working groups aiming to develop the appropriate FSC working standards. Germany set up its FSC working group at the end of 1997. At the end of 2001 the FSC German standard was issued and recognized as a valid FSC standard by FSC.
FSC in wood processing and trade
Apart from the forest management guidelines, it is necessary to ensure a constant tracking of FSC wood along all processing operations and along intermediary reselling till retail trade. There are FSC guidelines available regulating the processing and manufacturing of FSC wood, as well as the use of FSC logo's in marketing.
The Wagener Sawmill strictly observes all the above guidelines.
